Especially when you want to play on Hypixel, it performs much better. Legacy is discontinued from my side and gets only community submitted changes.

Anyway the error has nothing to do with the config itself, but the connection between our API server and you. Since Minecraft 1.8.9 uses JRE 8 which is old and when your running outdated Java, it might cause issues with SSL certifications.
Its like trying to run Windows XP in 2024. undefined

@EclipsesDev Might look into this if you want and try allowing insecure SSL connections. I could also provide a endpoint which uses no SSL at all.
