Try the following steps:
1. Find an image you want to use as the main menu background.
2. Rename it to userbackground.png.
3. Place it inside <path-to-minecraft-folder>/LiquidBounce-1.8.
4. Launch the game.
If everything worked out, LiquidBounce should now use the provided image instead of the shader.
