Try placing an image called userbackground.png in the LiquidBounce directory (Usually .minecraft/LiquidBounce-1.8 or .LiquidLauncher/gameDir/LiquidBounce-1.8). That might fix the problem.

no maybe background is the problem lb's background is a gif and it's very laggy too, changing the background to a png may fix it

what opengl version are you using? if it under 2.0, try to replace your graphics card. (my pc has an gpu with opengl 2.1 and it worked well)
